The  Comtex MR-77 FME VHF/UHF Dual Band Magnetic mount antenna , is optimzed on 145 and 435 MHz most of the other similar models on the market have a center frequency of 144 and 430 MHz . Due to the hi-quality RG 58 Coax Cable of 5-m length the max Power is 70 W which is an additional advantage , because more and more radio manufacturers are ofering mobile transceivers with 60W power output and more. You cant reach this values with an antenna with RG 174 which have a cable loss of more then 60 dB/100m, so these antennas are only useful as a provisorial solution for a hand held radio.

The other step into future is that it comes with a FME Connector .The benefit is that you dont have to decide before purchasing which connector You need.

There a connectors for the most common radios available. That saves insertion loss, because no additional Adapter is needed if You want to connect Your BNC-Type antenna to a radio with N Jack.
